Today Ellie finished regular school for the year. This time, the little girl who used to run from circle time to play in the corner with the animals helped plan the end of year party, and volunteered to bring both popcorn and brownies from home. She drew a picture of her favorite part of school to share with the class: the balance beam, swing, ladder and trampoline in Gross Motor where she works on coordination and strength each day. She sat patiently (for the most part) reading a book while her classmates received their awards, and then accepted the Writing Award from her teacher with a smile and a hug.
Oh, how far you have come in one short year, my sweet little girl! From speaking only a few sylables at a time to talking in complete sentences (and even asking questions!), reading and writing words, and even dabbling in new languages, we see more and more of your true self every day. Your sweetness, your humor, your intelligence and curiousity have impressed, endeared, and charmed us all. Even your teachers teared-up when they said good-bye, sorry to see you go for the summer. Keep up the amazing work, Ellie! We are all so proud of you!
